The Tall Ship is very close to the newly redeveloped Quays area near the end of Southgate Street. This pub could be described as a gastro pub as the cuisine is of a very high standard.

The speciality is of seafood with a surprisingly large selection of fresh fish and shell fish. The pub atmosphere may not lend itself to refinement so be prepared for a work-a-day city pub clientele in the bar area.

Portion sizes have been very good and service has been brisk and relatively friendly. This pub/restaurant may be seen as a good antidote to the corporate dining establishments in the rest of the Quays area. Very good value for money consideriung the freshness and quality of the seafood.
